Use an LFO Instead of Sidechain Compression - Shane Hazleton

How To Use an LFO In Place of Sidechain Compression

There are a few different ways to achieve the pumping sound that drives a rhythm in dance music. One of those ways is by utilizing a low frequency oscilator in place of sidechain compression.

In this video, Pyramind mentor Shane Hazleton walks you through this unique technique.

Instead of using “ghost kick” notes to acheive the pumping sound when no kick is in the mix, this method allows you to have the best of both worlds.

To learn more about this technique and others, check out our Producer-led online music production programs. Produce your E.P. with a chart-topping producer and a group of like-minded people with a shared passion for making music.
